Natural Fertility Therapies

Post 3: Complementary Therapies

As the leading provider of Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) for Fertility in London, we meet a lot of women and men who want to improve their chances of conception, either through natural methods or assisted reproduction therapy (ART). Laser Therapy or Photobiomodulation Therapy (PBMT) is a growing choice of highly effective natural fertility therapies. LLLT improves egg quality in women (and sperm quality in men), particularly in the over 35 age group where egg and sperm quality is usually the over-riding challenge for conception.

We appreciate that conception, like all health issues, is best approached holistically. In the same way that overall health and fitness supports the healing of many specific conditions, attention to health, fitness and mental well-being increases the likelihood of conception. Rather than relying on Laser Therapy alone to improve reproductive fertility health, we encourage patients to embrace as many natural fertility therapies as appropriate for them.

Our third blog post on natural fertility therapy, focusses on complementary therapies that support conception for the over 35s. We discuss the benefits of acupuncture, chiropractic care, reflexology and Low Level Laser Therapy or Photobiomodulation Therapy (PBMT).

Acupuncture

Traditionally acupuncture has been a firm favourite for helping improve fertility worldwide. It has been the most widely used adjunctive therapy for conception, either by natural or assisted methods. Similarly, at Laser Medicine we work with the acupuncture system and apply light (low level laser at specific wavelengths and power) through key acupuncture points and meridians to improve reproductive health.

Chiropractic

Key nerves in the spine relating to reproductive health can be released through chiropractic treatments, which in turn can improve fertility. We apply low level laser through the same key nerves in spine, to help resolve misalignments and improve spinal health.

Reflexology

Maternity reflexology is a specific form of reflexology aimed at women during any part of the pregnancy sequence – pre-conception, pregnancy, labour and the post-natal period.  It works on reflex points on your feet, and helps the body (and hormones) back into a state of equilibrium, reducing levels of stress, and allowing a state of deep relaxation – all essential factors in conceiving and maintaining a healthy pregnancy.

Low Level Laser / PBMT

Laser Therapy for Fertility, shows that it is possible to improve egg quality, slow down the ageing process and significantly improve fertility in women and men. Furthermore, laboratory studies have repeatedly shown the effectiveness of Low Level Laser for Fertility due to enhanced mitochondrial activity and ATP production, increased blood flow and the reduction of oxidative damage. We work with each individual patient to optimise their health as required, using standard LLLT protocols for fertility in conjunction with many other protocols to maximise the efficiency of the body. These mechanisms and protocols are designed to help rejuvenate eggs and sperm mobility, maximise egg quality potential and prepare the body for fertilisation and pregnancy.
